Overview:

STEAMS Central Inc. seeks experienced educators, instructional designers, and curriculum professionals to serve as Curriculum Development Volunteers supporting the design, refinement, and alignment of interdisciplinary, project-based curriculum resources across STEAMS Central and Achieve Desk programs.

Curriculum Development Volunteers contribute subject-matter expertise and instructional design insight to strengthen curriculum coherence, applied learning integration, and alignment with STEAMS Central’s 8-Step Project-Based Lesson Plan Framework. This role is advisory and developmental in nature and does not require direct classroom instruction, learner supervision, or credentialing authority.

 

Role Purpose:

The Curriculum Development Volunteer role exists to support the quality, clarity, and consistency of STEAMS Central’s curriculum systems by embedding the 8-Step PBLP Framework across learning resources, lesson structures, and applied learning experiences.

Volunteers assist in ensuring that curriculum materials clearly connect learning objectives, interdisciplinary knowledge settings, applied projects, reflection points, and real-world implementation steps in a way that is scalable, workforce-informed, and aligned with career-connected learning goals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the design, review, and refinement of curriculum resources aligned to the 8-Step PBLP Framework

  • Support clear integration of all 8 steps (Round Table, Reflection Point, Knowledge Setting, Project, Community Involvement, Assessment, Feedback Loop, Resume Integration) within curriculum materials

  • Provide advisory input on learning progression, skill development, and applied learning coherence

  • Assist with aligning curriculum language, structure, and objectives to interdisciplinary STEAMS principles

  • Review curriculum materials to ensure applied projects align with career-connected and workforce-informed learning outcomes

  • Support consistency and clarity across curriculum guides, lesson frameworks, and implementation documents

  • Participate in periodic virtual curriculum reviews, working sessions, or advisory consultations

  • Collaborate with STEAMS Central staff to maintain curriculum integrity across programs and pathways

 

Scope of Engagement:

  • Advisory, developmental, and systems-focused curriculum support

  • No classroom teaching, grading, or learner supervision required

  • No authority over credentialing, assessment, or instructional delivery

  • Engagement is flexible and structured around defined curriculum development or review projects

  • Participation does not require licensure transfer, formal teaching assignment, or classroom placement

 

Qualifications:

  • Background in curriculum development, instructional design, or education

  • Experience with project-based learning frameworks, interdisciplinary learning, or applied learning models preferred

  • Familiarity with structured learning frameworks and curriculum mapping

  • Ability to contribute thoughtfully to curriculum design discussions and framework alignment

  • Strong collaborative and systems-thinking skills
