The STREAMSS Sports Foundations Badge recognizes a student's successful completion of the Foundations Sports Pathway. Designed in the signature Pink Desert theme, the embroidered badge features a bright sun rising over pastel desert sands with cactus silhouettes, symbolizing energy, teamwork, healthy living, and the joy of movement.
What It Represents
Selective Elective Achievement
Awarded to students who have successfully completed the Foundations (Grades K–2) Sports Pathway by demonstrating age-appropriate proficiency in the STREAMSS Selective Elective.
Sports Competencies
Students demonstrate beginning understanding and application of:
- Fundamental movement skills (running, jumping, throwing, catching, balancing, and kicking)
- Teamwork and cooperation
- Sportsmanship and respect
- Listening and following directions
- Safe participation during physical activities
- Healthy lifestyle habits and physical wellness
- Confidence, perseverance, and positive participation
STREAMSS Connections
The Sports Pathway reinforces multiple STREAMSS disciplines, including:
- Science through health, movement, and the human body
- Mathematics through counting, measurement, patterns, and game strategies
- SEL-to-Social Studies through teamwork, communication, leadership, and responsible decision-making
Pathway Progression
This badge represents the first milestone within the STREAMSS Sports Pathway and prepares students to advance to:
- Applied Sports (Grades 3–6)
- Bridge Sports (Grades 7–12)
Placement on the STREAMSS Pathway Jacket
The Sports Foundations Badge may be proudly displayed on the student's STREAMSS Pathway Jacket (recommended placement: right sleeve or designated Selective Elective panel).
The badge signifies that the student has successfully completed the required STREAMSS Sports learning experiences and demonstrated proficiency within the Foundations Sports Pathway.
As students continue progressing through the STREAMSS Curriculum, they may earn additional pathway badges that celebrate growth across both the Seven Foundational Disciplines and STREAMSS Selective Electives.
